System Description
System Description
The following functions are integrated in the alarm system control module:
- Alarm system
- Immobiliser
- Radio receiver
- Central locking
- Comfort control
- Passenger compartment monitoring
Versions of the control module
Functions of the alarm system
- Monitoring of the outer shell of the vehicle via contact switches.
- Attempted break-ins are detected and indicated by audible and visual signals.
- The alarm horn, alarm siren (country regulations) and interior lights are activated for alarm output. The system can be enhanced by connecting additional sensors (glass breakage sensor, tilt sensor).
Functions of the central locking system
Unlike previous systems, a two-motor lock is used here.
- Locked motor
- Safe motor
The locked motor switches the central locking system from unlocked to locked and vice versa.
The safe motor switches the central locking system from locked to safe and vice versa.
The central locking system has three different locking conditions:
- Action 1. If the lock is actuated once, the so-called 'Safe locking - door secured' function is activated. The doors can be opened only with the key, but not with the inside door handles.
- Action 2. If the door lock is actuated twice within 1 second, the vehicle is not accessible from the outside, but can be unlocked using the inside door handles.
- Emergency locking. Emergency locking is triggered by actuating the door lock three times and represents an emergency function. If the functional capability of the overall system is impaired because, for example, one door cannot be closed, it is still possible in this way to activate the other security functions. Point 1 is activated when the system is operated via the hand-held transmitter. The position of the doors is checked by limit switches in the lock.
The conditions for a locking process from Unlocked to Locked are listed in the following table.
Unlocked -> Locked
Triggering condition Requirements
Door lock barrel: - Driver's door closed.
Central locking action 2 - Pin 86 S off.
- Pin 15 off.
- No valid transponder (no ignition key inserted).
Radio transmitter: - Driver's door closed.
Central locking action 2 - Pin 86 S off.
- Pin 15 off.
- No valid transponder (no ignition key inserted).
Door lock barrel: - Possible at any time.
Emergency locking
Central locking switch: - Driver's and passenger's door closed.
Actuated to Closed. - Pins 86 S and 15 were deactivated for at least 2 seconds after crash unlocking.
Speed [>] V(gr) (version coding). Driver's and passenger's door closed.
- Pin 15.
- Pin 86 S.
- Pins 86 S and 15 were deactivated for at least 2 seconds after crash unlocking.
Pin 15 on (version coding). - Driver's and passenger's door closed.
- Pins 86 S and 15 were deactivated for at least 2 seconds after crash unlocking.
The conditions for a locking process from Unlocked to Safe are listed in the following table.
Unlocked -> Safe
Triggering conditions Requirements
For all triggering conditions from
Unlocked -> Safe for central locking
system elements without Safe
position (country version). See Unlocked -> Safe
t(wv1) following central Following radio actuation:
locking system radio unlocking. - No door was opened.
- No pin 86 S was recognised.
- No pin 15 was recognised.
- No other central locking system actions were performed. Central locking system was set to Safe or Locked position before radio unlocking.
Door lock barrel: - Driver's door closed.
Central locking action 1 - Pin 86 S off.
- Pin 15 off.
- No valid transponder (no key inserted).
- Not possible when coding central locking system elements without Safe position.
Radio transmitter: - Driver's door closed.
Central locking action 1 - Pin 86 S off (for at least 2 seconds).
- Pin 15 off, not possible when coding central locking system elements without Safe position.
- No valid transponder (no key inserted).
- Not possible when coding central locking system elements without Safe position.
t(wv1) = re-locking time, can be coded.
The conditions for a locking process from Locked to Safe are listed in the following table.
Locked -> Safe
Triggering condition Requirements
Central locking system was unlocked,
door lock barrel or radio transmitter
actuated twice in 1 second, the
central locking system lock is already
in Safe position after the first
actuation and before the second
actuation is detected. As for Unlocked -> Safe
Central locking system is already
in Safe position and door lock
barrel is actuated to Closed
twice in 1 second. As for Unlocked -> Safe
Safe position of a door is detected - Pin 15.
while pin 15 is on. - At least one door in Safe position.
- Alarm system is not activated.
Pin 86 S on. Within 10 seconds or in the inactive period after the locking command is given once.
Pin 15 on or valid transponder.
A valid transponder is detected. Alarm system is activated:
- One door was unlocked mechanically.
- Other door is in Safe position.
IR sensor detects movement. System is in time window for movement detection.
The conditions for a locking process from Locked to Unlocked are listed in the following table.
Locked -> Unlocked
Triggering condition Requirements
Door lock barrel: Not for coding variant 'deactivate only via radio', if alarm system is activated.
Actuated to Open.
Radio transmitter: - Pin 86 S off (for at least 2 seconds).
Actuated once.
Central locking switch: - Both doors closed and
Actuated to Open. - Locking was also performed using central locking switch or
- After locking with pin 15 on or
- After locking via speed signal.
A door is unlocked using inner - Locking was performed either with central locking switch or
actuating mechanism. - After a valid transponder is detected or
- After locking with pin 15 on or
- After locking via speed signal.
Crash signal - Pin 86 S or
- Pin 15
Desired locked position is not Not possible with emergency function or
achieved. if central locking switch is actuated.
The conditions for a locking process from Safe to Unlocked are listed in the following table.
Safe -> Unlocked
Triggering condition Requirements
Door lock barrel: Not for coding variant 'deactivate only via radio',
Actuated to Open. if alarm system is activated.
Radio transmitter: - Pin 86 S off (for at least 2 seconds).
Actuated once. - Pin 15 off.
- No valid transponder.
