Electrical Emergency Release, Front Cover (Hood) and Trunk Lid
(Emergency Unlocking of the Luggage Compartment Lids)

Should the front and rear hood release become inoperative due to a disconnected or discharged battery, the following procedure will allow the hoods to be operated electrically under these conditions.

1. Use diagram to make a similar fuse jumper circuit.
2. Open the left driver-side door.
4. Remove the fuse box cover, located on the left-side of the driver-side footwell.

5. Pull and remove fuse C3.
6. Connect the fuse connector of the fuse jumper to the "C3" slot on the fuse box.

7. Connect the positive lead of the battery or battery booster pack to positive "+" tail of fuse jumper.
8. Using an external battery or battery pack booster, connect the negative lead "-" to the door stop.
NOTE:
If the vehicle was previously locked, the alarm horn will sound when the negative lead is connected.
9. With the door open, move the door latch with a screwdriver into the closed position.
10. Using the key, lock and unlock the door.
11. The front and rear hood release can now be operated.
NOTE:
If the vehicle is in the workshop and the battery must be disconnected, try to park the vehicle in as safe area where it is not necessary to latch the front hood.
