Holder for Seat Wiring Harness

Concern:
Damage to seat wiring harness under left front seat
Information:
When adjusting the left front seat longitudinally, the wiring harness could be damaged by the seat rails due to routing of the wiring harness under the seat.
As of August 13, 2001 the seat wiring harness is fastened to the alarm system control module with a holder (Figure 1 arrow A).
In the event of power seat controls, seat heating, or seat memory not functioning due to damaged wiring harness, the holder must be installed.

Work Procedure:
Retrofitting holder for seat wiring harness (Figure 2).
1. Disconnect battery.
2. Remove the left front seat.
3. Repair the damaged wires on the seat wiring harness.
4. Fasten the holder on the seat wiring harness with a least 3 layers of narrow cloth adhesive tape, see Figure 1 arrow B.
Note:
Attach the holder on the wiring harness so that the holder and seat plug are in a straight line. Distance between the seat plug and the center of the holder: approx. 320 mm (Figure 3).
5. Clip the holder into the available opening on the control unit, see Figure 1.
6. Install seat.
7. Connect battery.
