Events

NOTE:
- The occurence of particular system errors is stored in the event memory. Furthermore, it is possible to read out the time of the occurence using the F8 key. The time is shown in minutes. The events stored in the event memory concern components of the instrument cluster and also components or other control units like PSM or DME. The following system errors are stored in the event memory:
- During diagnosis, PSM failure is entered into the event memory via communication with the Porsche System Tester II No. 9588 and the respective warning lights are activated during the automatic control unit search. In this case, no fault is present and the event memory is to be erased after completion of the diagnosis.

The total mileage can also be read out from the old instrument cluster under the menu item "Control unit replacement" and can be transferred into the new instrument cluster if the old replacement instrument is still functional and if it is possible to establish communication with the Porsche System Tester II No. 9588.

Tank calibration
Refer to Calibrating fuel level sensor system.

Speedometer A
A speed can be simulated under this menu item to check the function of dynamic volume control (speed-dependent volume). If the function of the dynamic volume is switched on and the speed is simulated by means of Porsche System Tester II No. 9588 PST 2, the volume must change according to the speed. The higher the simulated speed, the higher the volume.

Control Unit Replacement
Certain values can be read out of the old instrument cluster and can be transferred into the new instrument cluster. A prerequisite for this is that the communication can be set up between the old instrument cluster and Porsche System Tester II No. 9588. The following values can be read out of the old instrument cluster and can be transmitted into the new instrument cluster:
- Total mileage
- Tank calibration
- Vehicle Ident. No.

NOTE:
- The country coding is not read out and transferred via this function.
- Correct country coding is a prerequisite of the correct functioning of the instrument cluster.
