PSM Control Module

CAUTION: Moisture can cause corrosion! Fluids must not come into contact with the connector!

If the control module is damaged, only the control module without the hydraulic unit must be replaced.

Observe the following points:
- The control module must be coded for the corresponding type of transmission (manual transmission/Tiptronic).
- The Vehicle Identification Number must be entered.
- A static test and the swap test must be carried out with the PST2.

If the control module is damaged, the complete hydraulic unit with integrated control module must be replaced.

Observe the following points:
- The control module must be coded for the corresponding type of transmission (manual transmission/Tiptronic).
- The Vehicle Identification Number must be entered.
- A static test and the swap test must be carried out with the PST2.

NOTE: Observe the allocation to the rate-of-turn sensor! The control module as of 08/00 performs a self-test of the rate-of-turn sensor. This control module must be installed only in combination with the rate-of- turn sensor with part No. 996.606.145.00.

CAUTION: The rate-of-turn sensor is a micro-mechanical component and is very sensitive to impacts!

If the rate-of-turn sensor with part No. 996.606.147.00 is determined to be faulty, install the new rate-of-turn sensor with part No. 996.606.145.00.

The new rate-of-turn sensor can be retrofitted. In vehicles up to model 07/00 the holder of the front centre console and the centre console support at the bottom front must be additionally replaced.
