Concern:
Spot formation, fouling, formation of film under the cover of the main headlight.
Information:
Fouled air can enter the headlight housing through the headlight ventilation system. This can cause spot formation, fouling or the formation of film under the cover.
Beginning with the following introduction date, a ventilation element with filter is fitted on the headlight ventilation connection (Figure 1, arrow). The previous ventilation pipe has been omitted. In the event of a complaint, the affected headlight is to be replaced and the new ventilation element fitted on both headlights.

Work Procedure:
Retrofitment of the new ventilation element
1. Remove the problem headlight; see Owner's Manual 911 Carrera (996), Chapter "Practical Information, Breakdown Service" Headlights.
2. Loosen the ventilation pipe connected to the headlight mount and pull out with the pliers.
3. Engage the new ventilation element to the ventilation connection of the headlight mount (Figure 1, arrow).
4. Install the new headlight.
5. Remove the other headlight, remove the former ventilation pipe and install the new ventilation element.
6. Install the headlight.
