Audio CD read error

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on.
- PCM2/CDR23 on
- Functional audio CD inserted correctly in CD changer
- Start CD changer

NOTE:
- Fault code 8003 is recorded in the PCM 2 MMI/CDR23 if the operating buttons are actuated for 1 min. or longer.
- Deactivate the automatic traffic announcement before performing the diagnosis on the PCM2. If this is not done, the diagnosis will abort.

Possible cause of fault
- Audio CD damaged or inserted incorrectly (label up)
- No audio CD inserted (data CD)
- Audio CD dirty, scratched or damp
- Insufficient power supply
- Glass fuse in CD changer faulty
- Wake-up/diagnosis lead (open circuit, short circuit, short to B+, short to ground)
- MOST switch closed.
- External amplifier (if installed) - no power supply
- Telephone/telematics (if installed) - no power supply

NOTE:
- The MOST optical waveguide is connected to the following control modules.
- PCM2
- CD changer
- Amplifier
- Telephone/telematics
