Removing And Installing Lock For Backrest Adjustment (Folding Sports Bucket Seat)






Preliminary work
1. Preliminary work on upper part of lock.
1.1. Remove cover for front middle backrest. Refer to Removing and installing front middle backrest cover (folding sports bucket seat)

2. Preliminary work on lower part of lock.
2.1. Remove front and rear part of seat cushion. Refer to Removing and installing seat cover (folding sports bucket seat)

Removing lock for backrest adjustment






1. Pull off the cover -1- at the Velcro fasteners -2- and -3- (-arrows-).






2. Carefully detach foam part of backrest -1- at the bonding points -2-, starting at the bottom and remove it -arrows-.






3. Release the backrest and fold it forward until there is no contact with the lower part of the lock.
4. Disengage the bowden cable at the upper part of the lock






4.1. Unclip bowden cable -1- from the locking clip -2- and swivel it 90 ° -arrow A-.
4.2. Remove bowden cable -1- from the actuating lever -3- (-arrow B-).

5. Remove upper part of lock.






5.1. Disengage the tension spring -1- at the upper part of the lock -2- (-arrow A-).
5.2. Unscrew fastening nuts -3-.
5.3. Remove upper part of lock -2- (-arrow B-).

Removing lower part of lock






1. Pull off the cover -1- at the Velcro fasteners -2- and -3- (-arrows-).






2. Carefully detach foam part of seat -1- at the bonding points -2- and remove it -arrows-.






3. Release the backrest and fold it forward until there is no contact with the upper part of the lock.
4. Unscrew fastening nuts -1- and remove lower part of lock -2- - -arrow-






Installing lock for backrest adjustment

Installing lower part of lock
1. Install lower part of lock.






1.1. Position lower part of lock -2- on the seat shell -3- (-arrow-).
1.2. Fit fastening nuts -1- and tighten them so that the lower part of the lock -2- can still be moved.
1.3. Adjust lower part of lock. Refer to Removing and installing lock for backrest adjustment (folding sports bucket seat)

2. Check bonding points -2- on the foam part -1- and apply new adhesive if necessary.






3. Position foam part -1- (-arrows-) and press it on at the bonding points -2-.
4. Align cover -1- with the side bolsters.






NOTE: Make sure the Velcro fasteners join cleanly.

5. Press on Velcro fasteners -2- and -3- (-arrows-).

Installing upper part of lock
1. Install upper part of lock.






1.1. Position upper part of lock -2- on the backrest shell -4- (-arrow A-).
1.2. Fit fastening nuts -3- and tighten them so that the upper part of the lock -2- can still be moved.
1.3. Adjust upper part of lock. Refer to Removing and installing lock for backrest adjustment (folding sports bucket seat)
1.4. Engage the tension spring -1- at the upper part of the lock -2- (-arrow B-).

2. Engage the bowden cable at the upper part of the lock.






2.1. Guide bowden cable -1- into the locking clip -2- on the actuating lever -3- (-arrow A-).
2.2. Swivel the bowden cable -1- 90° and engage it in the locking clip -2- (-arrow B-).

3. Check backrest release by pulling the loop. Adjust it if necessary.
4. Check bonding points -2- on the foam part -1- and apply new adhesive if necessary.






5. Position foam part -1- (-arrows-) and press it on at the bonding points -2-.
6. Align cover -1- with the side bolsters.






NOTE: Make sure the Velcro fasteners join cleanly.

7. Press on Velcro fasteners -2- and -3- (-arrows-).

Adjusting lock for backrest adjustment

Adjusting upper/lower part of lock
1. Lock the backrest so that the upper part of the lock -1- engages in the lower part of the lock -2- without strain.






2. Adjust the upper -1- and lower part of the lock -2- as required -arrows-.
3. Insert star gauges between the seat shell -1- and backrest shell -2-. -] Gap dimension: 3 mm-2 mm






4. Tighten fastening nuts -3- and -4- on the upper and lower part of the lock. -] Tightening torque: 22 Nm (16 ftlb.)±3 Nm (±2 ftlb.) -] Tightening torque: 22 Nm (16 ftlb.)±3 Nm (±2 ftlb.)
5. Release the backrest and close it using slight pressure.
Check closing force and re-adjust if necessary.

Subsequent work
1. Subsequent work on upper part of lock.
1.1. Install cover for front middle backrest. Refer to Removing and installing front middle backrest cover (folding sports bucket seat)
2. Subsequent work on lower part of lock.
2.1. Install front and rear part of seat cushion. Refer to Removing and installing seat cover (folding sports bucket seat)
