Tyre Failure / Tire Sealant - GT2
Tyre failure / tire sealant - GT2Note:
^ The 911 GT2 is delivered with a tire repair kit! A spare wheel or emergency wheel is not available!
^ The tire repair kit (Tire Mobility System), a compressor and a pressure tester are located in the luggage compartment!
^ It is essential to observe the safety and operating instructions on the sealant bottle and on the compressor!
^ Sealing the tire with the tire repair kit is only an emergency repair!
^ Even if the tire is sealed, it may only be used for short journeys in the event of an emergency and must be replaced by a professional workshop immediately!
^ Avoid sharp acceleration and high speed on bends! The highest permissible speed is 80 km/h!
Repair procedure
1. Take out sealant bottle and compressor. Shake sealant bottle well.
2. Screw the accompanying filler hose onto the bottle. The foil on the closure cap is automatically punctured.
3. Remove the valve cap from the tire valve and unscrew the valve insert with the accompanying valve insert driver and set it aside on a clean surface.
4. Remove the sealing plug from the filler hose, push the hose onto the tire valve.
5. Hold the bottle with its base upwards and empty the entire contents of the bottle into the tire. Then remove the hose and screw the valve insert tightly into the tire valve again.
Caution:
^ Damage to the compressor (danger of overheating) in the case of excessively long operation!
^ Do not operate the compressor for longer than 6 minutes!
6. Screw the filler hose of the compressor onto the tire valve, insert the plug into the cigarette lighter. Pump tire to 2.0 - 2.5 bar (read off pressure on pressure gauge).
7. If this air pressure cannot be reached, drive approximately 10 metres forward or backward with the vehicle, so that the sealant can distribute itself in the tire. Repeat pumping procedure.
Note:
^ If the required air pressure still cannot be reached, the tire is too badly damaged!
^ In this case, Tire-fit cannot provide the required sealing!
^ If the tire pressure has fallen to below 1.3 bar, do not travel any further! Danger of accident!
^ If more than 1.3 bar is measured, adjust the air pressure to the correct value again if necessary (see sticker in the filler flap) and continue the journey as far as the next workshop!
8. Affix the accompanying sticker in the driver s field of view.
9. Continue the journey immediately with care at maximum 80 km/h.
10. Check the tire pressure after driving for 10 minutes (use service station or pressure gauge of the compressor).
