General

Particular attention has been paid with the new Boxster/S (987) generation to improving the quality of the materials used in the interior. Accordingly, the amount of soft paint has been reduced and more components based on slush technology with improved surface quality and appearance used. Slush technology almost totally does away with the need to laminate components with a flat film. The advantages of slush technology are an improved quality of surfaces, more precise dimensioning of components, uniform grain finishes and the possibility of rendering extremely small radii.

The range of interior colors for the new Boxster/S (987) has also been extended to include four new standard colors: Sand Beige, Palm Green, Stone Grey and Sea Blue.

The following components are upholstered in grained look leather as standard:
- Shift lever
- Steering wheel rim
- Parking brake lever grip
- Door handle.

The seat center comes in Alcantara as standard.







Further upgrading measures concern a number of interior components, which also serve to differentiate between Boxster and Boxster S:
- On both variants, the rings around the vents, parts on the shift lever and optional Tiptronic S selector lever and seat controls come in galvanized aluminium look.
- Boxster - The plate depicting the gear pattern of the 5-speed shift lever is in black with a ring in galvanized aluminium look.
- Boxster S - The plate depicting the gear pattern of the 6-speed shift lever is in black with a ring in galvanized aluminium look.
- With Tiptronic S option, the selector gate comes in aluminium look paint finish. The additional parts on the Boxster and the handbrake lever trims come in the new color Volcano Grey.

A leather interior is additionally available as an option in the standard colors Black, Sand Beige, Palm Green, Stone Grey and Sea Blue. New special colors now available are Terracotta, Cocoa and a very attractive combination of Black and Stone Grey (two-tone). The Dark Grey and Brown which are familiar from the predecessor are available in natural leather.







If a leather interior is ordered, all leather scopes will be finished in smooth leather. The quality of the leather interior is highlighted by additional decorative seams on the dashboard, the door panels and the center console.

The leather interior includes the standard upholstered items plus the following components:

Top part of dashboard incl. airbag cover, instrument cluster cover, lower part of dashboard and glove compartment lid, door trims, door storage pocket cover, cover of center console storage bin, pads on center console, pads on roll-over bar and the seats.
