Removing And Installing Service Tray

Technical values







Preliminary work

1. Remove luggage-compartment trim panel (bulkhead). Refer to Removing and installing rear luggage-compartment lining
2. Drain coolant. Refer to Draining and filling coolant

Removing service tray







WARNING: Danger of scalding with hot engine oil.
- Allow engine and components to cool down.
- Avoid contact with the skin and eyes.
- Wear suitable protective clothing.


WARNING: Coolant is corrosive and hazardous to health.
- Risk of skin and eye irritation.
- Wear protective gloves and goggles.
- If you come into contact with coolant, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water.


1. Pull off water and oil hose.







1.1. Pull off spring band clamp -1- on oil hose -2-. Pull oil hose out of service tray -3-.
1.2. Pull spring band clamp off filler hose -4-. Pull filler hose out of service tray.
1.3. Pull spring band clamp off breather hose -5-. Pull breather hose out of service tray.

2. Remove service tray.







2.1. Press out cap -1- with a screwdriver. Unscrew fastening nut -2-.
2.2. Release locking lug at the bottom of the service tray -3- ( -arrow A- ) and pull out service tray in -direction of arrow B-.

3. Remove service tray assembly frame.







3.1. Unscrew fastening nuts -1-.
3.2. Remove service tray assembly frame -2- ( -arrow- ).

4. Remove sound absorbers and sealing frame for service tray.







4.1. Remove service tray sound absorbers at the right -1- and left -2- ( -arrow- ).
4.2. Remove service tray sealing frame -1- ( -arrow- ), check it and replace if necessary.







Installing service tray

1. Position service tray sealing frame -1- on the body -arrow-.







2. Install service tray assembly frame.







2.1. Position service tray sound absorbers on the body at the right -1- and left -2- ( -arrow- ).
2.2. Position service tray assembly frame -1- on the body -arrow- and align it with the sound absorbers -2, 3-.







2.3. Tighten fastening nuts -4-. Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)

3. Install service tray.







3.1. Clip in service tray -1- on the assembly frame -2- in -direction of arrow-.
3.2. Tighten fastening nut -3-. Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
3.3. Press cap -4- onto the upper fastening nut -3-.

4. Fit water and oil hose.







4.1. Attach oil hose -2- to the service tray -3- and fit the spring band clamp -1-.
4.2. Attach filler hose -4- to the service tray and fit the spring band clamp.
4.3. Attach breather hose -5- to the service tray and fit the spring band clamp.
4.4. Check that the hoses are firmly in place.

Subsequent work

1. Install luggage-compartment trim panel (bulkhead). Refer to Removing and installing rear luggage-compartment lining
2. Fill coolant and bleed cooling system Refer to Draining and filling coolant.
