Removing interior rear-view mirror

1. Pliers 9578 must be set to the diameter of the mirror base and then secured to the mirror base with the projecting plastic parts facing the windscreen.







2. Turn the interior rear-view mirror -2- by turning the pliers -1- 90 degrees anti-clockwise -arrow-. Then release the pliers from the mirror base.
3. Unclip the base of the interior rear-view mirror -1- from the retainer plate -2- ( -arrow- ).







INFORMATION: Remove the small aluminium chip in the locking area -arrow- so as to ensure that the mirror can be re-fitted securely. If the mirror is being fitted for the second or third time, check the locking area for signs of wear and replace if necessary.







Removing interior rear-view mirror

1. Carefully disconnect both covers -1- from below with a narrow screwdriver.







2. Removing orientation lights -2-.







INFORMATION: Only in vehicles with automatic anti-dazzle interior and exterior mirrors.

3. Carefully remove plug connection -3- from the mirror base and pull it apart.







4. Fold interior rear-view mirror -4- downward and push it down from the mirror base.







Installing interior rear-view mirror

1. Turn the base of the interior rear-view mirror -1- 90 degrees anti-clockwise and clip it on to the retainer plate -2- ( -arrow- ).







2. Pliers 9578 must be secured to the mirror base with the projecting plastic parts facing the windscreen. Then use the pliers -1- to turn the mirror base 90 degrees clockwise while pressing on the retainer plate -arrows-. The interior rear-view mirror -2- must not be turned past the locking point. Now release the pliers.







Installing interior rear-view mirror

INFORMATION:
- To ensure that the rain sensor will function correctly, the retainer plate for the interior rear-view mirror is affixed ex-works at a precisely defined position on the windscreen.
- If the retainer plate has become detached from the windscreen, the retainer plate must not be re-affixed to the windscreen.
- The windscreen must be replaced to ensure that the rain sensor functions correctly.

1. Push interior rear-view mirror -4- onto the mirror base from below.







INFORMATION: Only in vehicles with automatic anti-dazzle interior and exterior mirrors.

2. Join the plug connection -3- and insert it into the mirror base.







3. Insert orientation light into the cover.







INFORMATION: Make sure that the orientation light is correctly positioned.







4. Fit both covers -1-.
