3.2 Ordering Paint - Paint Data Plate

3.2.1 Identifying the paint code

Paint orders require the following specifications:
- Color name
- Paint code

Vehicles with "color a la carte" require the following specifications:
- Vehicle identification number
- Color name
- Complete color number (paint code, worker and manufacturer)







NOTE: For production reasons, different paint codes are sometimes used with the same color name during series production. Therefore, in order to avoid incorrect deliveries, it is essential to use the paint code on the paint data plate located on the vehicle when ordering.

When ordering paint, it is therefore always necessary to state the sales designation together with the corresponding color name (e.g.: L3 - montego black metallic).

3.2.2 Porsche 911 paint data plate

On the 911 model, the paint data plate is located under the carpet in the luggage compartment, on the right side (to the left of the identification plate).







3.2.3 Porsche 924 paint data plate

On the 924 model, the paint data plate is located in the engine compartment on the left side.







3.2.4 Porsche 928 paint data plate

On the 928 model, the paint data plate is located on the left lock pillar.







3.2.5 Porsche 944 paint data plate

On the 944 model, the paint data plate is located in the engine compartment on the left side, to the right of the central electrical system.







3.2.6 Porsche 964 paint data plate

On the 911 Carrera 2/4 model, the paint data plate is located on the left side panel under the carpet in the luggage compartment







3.2.7 Porsche 968 paint data plate

On the 968 model, the paint data plate is located in the engine compartment on the left side, to the right of the central electrical system.







3.2.8 Porsche 993 paint data plate

On the 991 Carrera (993) model, the paint data plate is located on the left side panel under the carpet in the luggage compartment.







3.2.9 Porsche 986 Boxster paint data plate

On the Boxster model, the paint data plate is located under the carpet in the front luggage compartment, on the left side panel.







3.2.10 Porsche 996 Carrera paint data plate

On the 911 Carrera (996) model, the paint data plate is located on the left side panel under the carpet in the luggage compartment.







3.2.11 Porsche Cayenne paint data plate

On the Cayenne model, the paint data plate is part of the vehicle data bank, which is located in the luggage compartment.







3.2.12 Porsche Carrera GT paint data plate

On the Carrera GT model, the paint data plate is located in the luggage compartment underneath the luggage compartment light.
