Removing and installing ATF panTools

Notes
Note: Fill only with ATF approved by Porsche.
Note: Hot vehicles should cool down before beginning the activity.
Note: Vehicle must be horizontal in order to be filled and checked.

Preliminary work
1. Raise the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.
2. Remove support plate.
3. Place oil collection pan under the transmission.
Draining ATF
ATTENTION
Transmission cannot be filled, or only insufficiently with ATF.
- Do not start engine
- Do not tow vehicle
WARNING
Danger of scalding and chemical burns from hot ATF
^ Allow ATF to cool down
^ Wear personal protective gear (goggles, gloves)
1. Unscrew ATF drain plug -1- and drain ATF.
2. Replace sealing ring for drain plug and tighten screw.
Tightening torque: 30 ft lb..
Removing ATF pan
1. Remove screws -1-.
2. Remove ATF-pan -2- with seal -3-. Pay attention to the magnet --.
Installing ATF pan
1. Clean sealing surfaces of ATF pan and transmission.
2. Clean magnet -4- and place it in the bead of the ATF pan. Ensure contact over full area.
3. Fit ATF pan -2- with new seal -3- and screw in screws -1-.
4. Tighten screws to specified tightening torque - Tightening sequence: Tightening torque: 8 ft lb..
Subsequent work
Topping up ATF
ATTENTION
Transmission cannot be filled, or only insufficiently with ATF.
^ Do not start engine
^ Do not tow vehicle
WARNING
Danger of scalding and chemical burns from hot ATF
^ Allow ATF to cool down
^ Wear personal protective gear (goggles, gloves)
1. Unscrew the ATF filler plug -2- and fill up with ATF until surplus ATF escapes at the hole of the ATF filler plug.
2. Move selector lever to position P and allow engine to idle.
3. With engine running, add more ATF again until excess ATF emerges from the bore of the ATF filler plug.
4. Inspect and if necessary add ATF.
5. Replace sealing ring for ATF filler plug and tighten screw.
Subsequent work
1. Fit support plate.
2. Lower the vehicle.
