Fault code 1520

Rain sensor/light sensor

NOTE:
- This fault is entered in the fault memory after performing a drive link test.
- The fault cannot be erased until the ignition has been switched off and on again.
- Procedure: Drive link test completed; switch off ignition, switch on ignition again; read out fault memory, erase fault.
- If after erasing the fault, it is stored again, then there is actually a fault in the system, which must be remedied by using the following procedure.

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Internal control module function test

Possible causes of fault
- To localise the fault, read out the fault memory for the 'rain sensor/ light sensor' (Please read out fault memory)
- 'No signal/communication' No message from rain sensor/light sensor on CAN comfort.
- 'implausible signal' The signal received from the rain sensor/light sensor via CAN comfort does not correspond to the expected signal.

Affected pins
Plug 'A' on vehicle electrical system control module:
- Pin 1 'CAN comfort (high)'
- Pin 2 'CAN comfort (low)'

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE: If there is no incoming signal/message via CAN comfort using several control modules, CAN comfort must be checked for open or short circuits. Refer to 'Checking instructions/CAN data bus'.
