Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Trailer hitch control module, internal function test
Possible causes of fault
- Communication via CAN comfort disrupted
- No initialisation performed (learn limit stops by driving off with button pressed)
- Open circuit or short circuit in positioning motor's signal and supply leads
- Mechanical fault in positioning motor
Affected pins
Trailer hitch control module, plug A:
- Pin 1, pin 8, pin 11, pin 12, pin 14
Plug for pivoting motor:
- Pin 1, pin 2, pin 3, pin 4, pin 5
Diagnosis/troubleshooting
WARNING:
Risk of injury and damage when retracting or extending the trailer coupling (trailer hitch).
- Make sure that no persons, animals or obstacles are in the movement range.
- Never retract the trailer hitch if, for example, bicycle racks or other parts are fitted.
