8018 External BOSE Amplifier
Fault in rear subwoofer
Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on.
- PCM2/CDR23 ON
NOTE:
- The driver amplifier built into the subwoofer should not be checked using a resistance measurement. Before replacing the subwoofer, the voltage supply in pins A4 and A5 should be checked in addition to the ground connection to pin A3.
- Fault code 8003 is recorded in the PCM2 MMI if the operating buttons are actuated for '≥ 1 Min.'.
- Deactivate the 'automatic traffic announcement' before performing the diagnosis on the PCM2. If this is not done, the diagnosis will abort (applies only to software version number < 03).
- This fault code is set by the 'microphone and loudspeaker selftest' with the 9588 Porsche System Tester II.
Possible cause of fault
- Faulty wiring harness / loudspeaker subwoofer (bass loudspeakers in front left and right doors).
- Faulty amplifier driver in subwoofer.
- External BOSE amplifier output stage faulty

External BOSE amplifier, plug A, pins 22 and 10.
