DME control unit [ECM/TCM Incompatible/TCM Communication Circuit Range/Performance]

Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- Internal control unit function test

Possible causes of fault

NOTE: The Tiptronic control unit is coded in the DME control unit.

DME control unit was replaced and coded incorrectly or was not coded (no or incorrect basic setting/adaptation)
- Engine type coded incorrectly (no or incorrect basic setting/ adaptation)
- Transmission type coded incorrectly (no or incorrect basic setting/adaptation)
- To localise the fault, read out the fault memory for the 'DME control unit' (Please read out fault memory)
- No message from DME control unit on CAN drive (no signal/ communication)

Affected pins
Tiptronic control unit plug:
- Pin 34 'CAN drive (low)'
- Pin 46 'CAN drive (high)'

NOTE: If there is no incoming signal/message via the CAN drive using several control units, the CAN drive must be checked for open or short circuits. Refer to 'Checking instructions/CAN data bus'.
