Information:
Customer Inquiries
Porsche bases its choice of pad materials for road vehicles on the usage profile and on the performance and comfort expectations of the typical customer. Brake pads optimized for road use are therefore installed on road vehicles as standard equipment.

Demands placed on the brakes by customers, e.g. for comfortable driving or even for race track use, can only be met by the use of pads with appropriately matched pad materials.

In order to cover the broadest possible range of uses, two types of brake pads (for road or race track use) are available for the 911 GT3 with standard brakes and with PCCB.

Overview:
1. steel brake disc
1.1. Standard brake pad for sporty driving (road and sport use)
1.2. Brake pad for race track use only

2. PCCB brake disc
2.1. Standard brake pad for sporty driving
2.2. Brake pad for race track use only

CAUTION:
Following installation of replacement brake pads: Braking effect will be reduced due to mismatched and different pad materials.

- If brake pads have to be replaced, install only the approved brake pads specified below.

- If the previously recommended brake pads are installed and replacements are required, the original pads and the newly approved pads must not be installed together (not even on the same axle).

Equipment:
1. Standard brakes (steel brake disc)

CAUTION:
Worn brake pad: Risk of damage to the brake disc from the brake pad carrier.

- The racing brake pad has no connection for the brake pad wear indicator. Given this, perform a visual inspection for sufficient pad thickness when installing and removing the racing brake pad or before and during race track use.

- Following installation of the brake pads, the brake pad wear indicator warning light stays on continuously. The warning can be disabled for the duration of race track use by installing a jumper plug.

- Installation position of jumper plug (964.612.026.70): Plug connection for brake pad wear on the wheel carrier.

Installation:
Retrofit only (at race track).

Characteristics:
Reduced pad wear at high operating temperatures. Higher tendency to squeal compared with standard pad. Higher pedal forces required at low operating temperatures.

Part Nos. of single pad:
996.351.940.93 --> Brake pad front axle
997.352.930.91 --> Brake pad rear axle
964.612.026.70 --> Jumper plug

Identification
Green finish on all lateral pad surfaces.

Single pads and jumper plugs are available only from Porsche Motorsport (PMNA).

Equipment:
2. Standard brake PCCB (I-no. 450)

Sporty Brake Pads:
2.1. Standard brake pad for sporty driving (road and sporty use) (PCCB).

Installation:
Standard Brake Pad with I-no. PCCB.

Characteristics:
Good all-round characteristics, even for sporty driving. Good fading stability, e.g. for driving over mountain passes. Only suitable for certain race tracks. Higher pad wear compared with the pad for race track use at very high operating temperatures.
