Xth Gear Slipping

NOTE: The ratio of transmission input speed to transmission output speed dependent on the selected gear is monitored.
If it occurs 3 times in the same gear, the fault is entered.

Diagnostic conditions:
- ATF level OK
- Selector lever position D or M
- Gear engagement has been completed
- Gear X selected 3 times

Possible fault causes:
- ATF level too low or too high
- Hydraulic control unit faulty
- Transmission faulty (e.g., clutch slips, etc.)

Fault reaction:
- A warning is displayed in the instrument cluster.
- The torque converter lockup clutch is opened and held open.
