Replacing Retainer Plate For Seat Adjustment Motor

Preliminary work

CAUTION: Malfunction in airbag system at the passenger's side.
- Danger of material damage and injury.
- Do not loosen safety screws on the AWS sensors or seat frame.
- Only replace retainer plate for seat adjustment motor on vehicles without AWS sensors.
- On vehicles with an AWS sensor, the retainer plate must only be replaced together with the seat frame.


1. Move front seat to the uppermost position.
2. Remove front seat. Refer to Removing and installing front seat.

INFORMATION: Only for vehicles with adaptive sports seats.

3. Remove motor and control valve for air cushion.







3.1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the holder -2-.
3.2. Move holder -2- with connected motor and control valve for air cushion to one side -arrow-.

4. Remove seat adjustment motor. Refer to Removing and installing seat adjustment motor.

1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- at the left and right on the retainer plate -2- (-arrows-).







2. Remove retainer plate -2- from the seat frame -3-.

1. Position retainer plate -2- on the seat frame -3- and secure with the fastening screws -1- (-arrows-). Tightening torque: 24 Nm (18 ftlb.) ±4 Nm (±3 ftlb.)







Subsequent work

1. Install seat adjustment motor. Refer to Removing and installing seat adjustment motor.

INFORMATION: Only for vehicles with adaptive sports seats.

2. Install motor and control valve for air cushion.







2.1. Position holder -2- with connected motor and control valve for air cushion -arrow-.
2.2. Tighten fastening screws -1- on the holder -2-.

3. Install front seat. Refer to Removing and installing front seat.
