Creating Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)

Information

When creating the FAP, it is essential to guarantee the power supply for the Porsche System Tester. A battery charger with a current rating of at least 40 A must be connected to the vehicle battery.

The Porsche System Tester instructions take precedence and in the event of a discrepancy, these are the instructions that must be followed. Deviations may occur with later software versions.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms; different text or additions may appear in the Porsche System Tester.

1. PIWIS Tester 9718 must be connected to the vehicle before starting the Tester.
2. Select "Diagnosis".
3. Select vehicle type.
4. Select "Protocols" by pressing F5.
5. Start creating the VAL by pressing "Start" F8. (VAL is created).
6. Check the chassis number and correct it if necessary.
7. If you intend to forward/send the data, press F7 to continue.
8. If you want to print the data, connect the printer to the PIWIS Tester 9718.
9. Switch on the printer.
10. # button at the right of the PIWIS Tester 9718 must now be pressed.
11. Press "psc" on the keypad that appears.
12. Select "Vehicle analysis log" in the background.
13. Press >> to continue.
14. Select the VAL for the relevant/required vehicle.
15. Press >> to continue.
16. The VAL is displayed.
17. Select "Print" to print the VAL.
18. Shut down the Tester, switch it off and disconnect it from the vehicle.
