Technical values





Preliminary work

1. Disconnect battery. -> 2706IN Working instructions after disconnecting the battery 2706IN00 Work instructions after disconnecting the battery
2. Remove rear luggage-compartment lining.
3. Remove relay carrier. -> 979019 Removing and installing relay carrier - section on "Removing" 97901900 Removing and installing relay carrier
4. Remove rear lid-release motor.
5. Remove rear spoiler.

Removing rear wire harness

1. Disconnect plug connection for rear wire harness to engine wire harness -1-.

1.1. Release and disconnect plug connection for rear wire harness to engine wire harness -arrows A- -arrow B-.
1.2. Release connector socket for rear wire harness -arrows C- and push down from relay carrier -arrow D-.
2. Disconnect plug connections for rear wire harness to main wire harness -2 and 3-.

2.1. Release -arrows A- and disconnect -arrows B- plug connections for rear wire harness to main wire harness.
2.2. Release connector sockets for rear wire harness -arrows C- and push down from relay carrier -arrows D-.
3. Release and pull off connector for rear light at left and right. -> 943119 Removing and installing rear light - section on "Removing" 94311900 Removing and installing tail light
4. Loosen ground point -5-.

4.1. Screw off fastening nut and remove ground straps.
5. Release and pull off plug connection for spoiler drive engine.
6. Release and pull off plug connection for rear lid lock.

7. Pull off connector on sender for coolant-level indicator -10-.

7.1. Release connector on sender for coolant-level indicator -arrow A- and pull it off -arrow B-.
7.2. Unclip rear wire harness from both holders -11-.
8. Remove rear wiring harness.
8.1. Remove rubber sleeve -12-.
8.2. Unclip rear wire harness at the left and right at both retaining clips -13- from the rear vent.
8.3. Remove rear wire harness from the four holders -14- at the end plate.
8.4. Remove rear wiring harness.

Installing rear wire harness

1. Install rear wire harness.
1.1. Lay out rear wiring harness.
1.2. Insert rear wire harness in the four holders -14- at the end plate.
1.3. Clip rear wire harness at the left and right at both retaining clips -13- into the rear vent.
1.4. Fit rubber sleeve -12-.

2. Pushing on connector on sender for coolant-level indicator -10-.

2.1. Push on connector on sender for coolant-level indicator -arrow- until it is felt to engage.
2.2. Clip in rear wire harness at both holders -11-.
3. Push the plug connection for the rear lid lock together until it is felt to engage.
4. Press plug connection for spoiler drive engine together until it is felt to engage.
5. Secure ground point -5-.

5.1. Connect ground straps and screw down fastening nut. => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
6. Push on connector for rear light at the left and right until it is felt to engage. -> 943119 Removing and installing rear light - section on "Installing" 94311900 Removing and installing tail light
7. Push together plug connections for rear wire harness to main wire harness -2 and 3-.

7.1. Push connector sockets for rear wire harness onto relay carrier -arrows A- until they are felt to engage.
7.2. Push together plug connections for rear wire harness to main wire harness -arrows B- and lock until they are felt to engage.
8. Push together plug connection for rear wire harness to engine wire harness -1-.

8.1. Push connector socket for rear wire harness onto relay carrier -arrow A- until it is felt to engage.
8.2. Push together plug connection for rear wire harness to engine wire harness -arrow B- until it is felt to engage.

Subsequent work

1. Install rear spoiler.
2. Install rear lid-release motor.
3. Install relay carrier. -> 979019 Removing and installing relay carrier - section on "Installing" 97901900 Removing and installing relay carrier
4. Install rear luggage-compartment lining.
5. Carry out work instruction after disconnecting the battery. -> 2706IN Work instructions after disconnecting the battery 2706IN00 Work instructions after disconnecting the battery
