Replacing Front Seat Frame (Folding Sports Bucket Seat)

Technical values







Preliminary work

1. Remove padding for side bolsters. Refer to Replacing padding for front seat (folding sports bucket seat).
2. Remove lower part of lock for backrest adjustment. Refer to Removing and installing lock for backrest adjustment (folding sports bucket seat).

INFORMATION: Only for passenger seat in USA/Canada vehicles.

3. Remove AWS control unit. Refer to Removing and installing AWS control unit (folding sports bucket seat).

4. Remove wire harness for AWS. Refer to Removing and installing wire harness for AWS (folding sports bucket seat).
5. Remove cushion carrier for front backrest. Refer to Removing and installing cushion carrier for front backrest (folding sports bucket seat).

Removing front seat frame







INFORMATION: Two persons are needed to remove and install the backrest shell.







1. Unscrew fastening screws -1-.
2. Lift seat shell -2- up and remove it from the bracket -3- (-arrows-).

Installing front seat frame

INFORMATION: Two persons are needed to remove and install the backrest shell.

CAUTION: Risk of damage to seat shell from the brackets.
- Risk of surface damage (scratches).
- Mask the seat shell with adhesive tape.







1. Mask the seat shell -1- at the left and right in the marked area with adhesive tape -2- (2-3 layers).


DANGER: Loosen the safety-related threaded joint.
- Danger of injury if seat shell is not screwed down correctly.
- Always replace fastening screws on seat shell.
- Never make alterations to the micro-self-locking screws (e.g. never use lubricant, loosen bolts, and screw them down again).







2. Position the seat shell -2- on the bracket -3- (-arrows-) and secure with the fastening screws -1-. Tightening torque: 24 Nm (18 ftlb.)+3 Nm (+2 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

1. Install cushion carrier for backrest. Refer to Removing and installing cushion carrier for front backrest (folding sports bucket seat).

2. Install wire harness for AWS. Refer to Removing and installing wire harness for AWS (folding sports bucket seat).

3. Install AWS control unit. Refer to Removing and installing AWS control unit (folding sports bucket seat).
4. Install lower part of lock for backrest adjustment. Refer to Removing and installing lock for backrest adjustment (folding sports bucket seat).
5. Install padding for side bolsters. Refer to Replacing padding for front seat (folding sports bucket seat).
