Preliminary work
1. Remove engine-compartment lid.
2. Fix the engine in the installation position using safety device 10-222 A at the engine lifting bracket.
3. Raise the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.
4. Remove support plate.

Danger
If the supports are folded down, the vehicle will roll off the platform lift when it is lowered.
-> Ensure that the platform is prevented from lowering.
-> Remove supports before lowering.
1. Lever selector cable off the ball pin and disengage from support bracket.
2. Place transmission jack under the transmission.
3. Unscrew fastening screws between the transmission and the transmission support.
Note:
The fastening nuts of the transmission support must never be loosened at the hydraulic mount because otherwise the transmission brackets will be damaged.
4. Unscrew fastening screws between the body and the hydraulic mount -arrows-.

5. Disconnect the plug connection for the multi-function switch.
6. Unscrew fastening screws between multi-functional switch and transmission and pull off multi-functional switch from selector lever.

Note:
^ When connecting the multi-functional switch to the selector lever, the multi-functional switch must not be tilted or pushed with force onto the selector lever. Otherwise there is a risk of damaging the switch contact.
1. Connect multi-functional switch to the selector shaft. The flattened area of the switch splines -1- must be covered with the flattened side of the selector shaft splines. -2-.
2. Connect multi-functional switch to transmission housing. To do this, turn the multi-functional switch until the dowel pin -3- on the transmission housing is covered by the fitted bore -4- on the housing of the multifunctional switch.
3. Screw in fastening screws between multi-functional switch and transmission.
4. Connect the plug connection for the multi-function switch.
5. Screw in fastening screws between the body and the hydraulic mount -arrows-.

6. Screw in fastening screws between the transmission and the transmission support.
7. Remove transmission jack.
8. Engage selector cable in support bracket and push onto ball journals.

Subsequent work
1. Install support plate.
2. Lower the vehicle.
3. Remove safety device 10-222 A.
4. Install the engine-compartment lid.
