Ride Height Sensor: Service and Repair


Removing and installing sensor for body

Information on acceleration sensors

The two acceleration sensors are used to measure vertical movements of the body (one sensor per axle).

The acceleration sensors are fitted close to the spring struts at the front right and rear left. The sensors at the front right and rear left are identical.

Removing and installing front and rear sensor

Removing sensor

Remove sensor on front axle

- Remove covers over the right spring-strut supporting mount.
- Release connector -1- and pull it off.

Loosen two M6 nuts -2-. Remove sensor -3- from the holder.

Remove sensor on rear axle

- Remove rear cover (Coupe and Targa).

Remove rear wall trim panel on the Cabriolet.

- Remove left back seat backrest -1-.

Remove sound absorber for seat well control unit (above the sensor). Release connector -2- and pull it off.

Loosen two plastic nuts -3- and remove sensor -4-.

Installing sensor

Installing sensor on front axle

- Secure sensor -3- to the holder (two M6 nuts -2-/tightening torque 10 Nm or 7.5 ftlb.).

Plug in connector -1- on the sensor -3- until it locks securely.

Install covers over the right spring-strut supporting mount.





Front right sensor

Install sensor on rear axle

- Install sensor -4- and secure it (using two plastic nuts -3-/tightening torque 2.5 Nm or 2 ftlb.).

Plug in connector -2- on the sensor -4- until it locks securely.

Install left back seat backrest -1-.

Fit sound absorber for seat well control unit (above the sensor).

- Install rear cover (Coupe and Targa).

Install rear wall trim panel on the Cabriolet.
