Removing And Installing Rear Lid
Technical values
Preliminary work
1. Remove trim panel for rear lid (window frame). Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for tailgate.
Removing rear lid
Detaching wiring harness on rear lid
1. Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
2. Disconnect electric plug connections -A, B, C, D-.
3. Unclip wiring harness for rear lid -arrow A- and -arrow B-.
4. Press out rubber covers on wiring harness for rear lid.
INFORMATION: Make sure not to trap or damage the wire harness when pulling it through.
5. Carefully pull out wiring harness for rear lid -arrow C-.
Removing rear lid
1. A second person must hold the rear lid to prevent it from falling shut.
2. Disengage rear pneumatic spring at the lid. Refer to Removing and installing rear pneumatic spring.
3. Unscrew fastening screws -1-.
4. Remove rear lid -2-.
Installing rear lid
1. Mount rear lid -2- with second person.
2. Screw in fastening screws -1- until they just make contact.
3. Engage rear pneumatic spring at the lid. Refer to Removing and installing rear pneumatic spring.
4. Adjust rear lid. Refer to Adjusting rear lid.
5. Tighten fastening screws -1-. Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
Fastening rear lid wiring harness
INFORMATION: Make sure not to trap or damage the wire harness when pulling it through.
1. Route plug connections of wiring harness in rear lid.
2. Position wiring harness on rear lid and clip in -arrow A- and -arrow B-.
3. Press in rubber sleeve -arrow C-.
4. Insert electric connectors -A, B, C, D-.
5. Electrical loads: check operation of auxiliary stop light, rear window heating, interior light, wiper motor.
Reworking
Subsequent work
1. Install trim panel for rear lid (window frame). Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for tailgate.
