Glove Compartment: Testing and Inspection
WM 681549 Eliminating noise symptoms - Reworking the glove box
General information
Symptoms
Rattling noises from around the glove compartment.
Causes and remedial action
Rattling noises can be heard while driving due to tolerances between the release bar and receiver.
In the event of a complaint, the rubber stops or buffers must be replaced and the receiver must be greased to remedy the situation on vehicles manufactured before the date of introduction April 2005.
If the glove compartment also squeaks when you open it, the hinge bolts must also be greased.
