Preliminary work

Remove trim panel for convertible top rest/engine compartment lid. -> 700819 Removing and installing trim panel for convertible top rest - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

Removing rear panel trim

Removing retaining strip for securing luggage





Installation position of retaining strip for securing luggage

1. Move front seat fully forward.
2. Remove covers -1- and push them inwards.

3. Unscrew fastening screws -2- and remove clip -3-.
4. Unscrew fastening screw -1- and remove retaining strip for securing luggage -2- upwards.

5. Check clamp -3- , replace if necessary.

1. Loosen rear wall trim panel -1- at the sides from the side trim panel -Arrow A- and lift up and out -Arrow B-.

1. Position rear wall trim panel -1- -Arrow A- and insert sides between the body and side trim panel -Arrow B-.

Installing retaining strip sound absorber for luggage retainer

Information

The fastening points must remain accessible when positioning the sound absorbers (insulation).

1. Pull off protective film and stick retaining strip sound absorbers for luggage retainer -1- to the retaining strip -2-.

1. Position retaining strip for securing luggage -2- on the body and press in until the clamps engage.

2. Tighten fastening screw -1-. => Tightening torque: 1.5 Nm (1.0 ftlb.)
3. Position clip -1- and screw down with the fastening screws -2-. torque => Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)

4. Press in covers -3-.
