General information on checking frequency stimulation via the sound system

Porsche special tool Noise and Vibration CD 9793

The stimulation of frequencies via the sound system can cause loose components or trim panels to vibrate or rattle. The test must be performed when the vehicle is stationary.

The following areas can be checked using the test procedure that involves stimulating frequencies via the sound system:
- Vibrations and rattling noises (squeak and rattle) at positions where bass loudspeakers are secured to interior components.
- Sound system testing in the event of defective loudspeakers/drivers/diplexers.

Playing track 1, 2 and 11 covers a wide frequency stimulation spectrum.

Tracks 3 to 7 produce high individual frequencies Sinus 40-100 Hz over a longer period of time.

Tracks 8 to 10 produce low individual frequencies Noise 16-125 Hz over a longer period of time.

Procedure:

CAUTION

Volume set too high
