1. Open the bonnet.
2. Remove entire engine compartment cover. => 700219 Removing and installing front cover (engine compartment) - section on "Removing"
3. Remove air cleaner housing cover on both sides. -arrows-

Removing engine cover (design cover)

1. Hold throttle cover on the left and right. Pull throttle cover straight up and off. -arrows-

Cylinder bank 1 to 4 =>
2. Remove torque support on valve cover. => Torque support

3. Detach torque support from the body and fold out of the way. => Torque support on the body

4. Unclip coolant hose and press behind valve cover. -Clip-

5. Remove four screws from the cover for the bar ignition modules. -arrows-

6. Carefully fold up cover of bar ignition modules far enough for the hooks in the oil mist separator to have clearance -arrows-. Remove cover.

7. Undo B+ line mount at valve cover. Remove one screw. -arrow-

8. Push B+ line carefully to the plenum panel. => Undoing B+ line

9. Remove four screws from the cover for the bar ignition modules in the same way as for cylinder bank 1 to 4.
10. Carefully fold up cover of bar ignition modules far enough for the hooks in the oil mist separator to have clearance -arrow-. Remove cover.

Installing engine cover (design cover)

Cylinder bank 5 to 8 =>
1. Move cover for bar ignition modules carefully into installation position until the hooks engage in the oil mist separator -arrows-. Fold down cover.

2. Fit four screws for the cover of the bar ignition modules in the same way as for cylinder bank 1 to 4. -arrows- => Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)

3. Move B+ line mount on valve cover into installation position and secure. Fit one screw. -arrow- => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

Cylinder bank 1 to 4 =>
4. Move cover for bar ignition modules carefully into installation position until the hooks engage in the oil mist separator -arrows-. Fold down cover.

5. Fit four screws for the cover of the bar ignition modules. -arrows- => Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)

6. Clip in coolant hose on valve cover. -arrow-

7. Fold torque support onto valve cover and secure. => Tightening torque: 60 Nm (44 ftlb.) => Torque support
=> Tightening torque: 60 Nm (44 ftlb.) => Torque support on the body

8. Press throttle cover onto the mounting points on the engine.

Subsequent work

1. Fit air cleaner housing cover on both sides.
2. Fit entire engine compartment cover. => 700219 Removing and installing front cover (engine compartment) - section on "Installing"
3. Close the bonnet.
