Removing headlight mounting
NOTE:
- Fastening screw for main headlight mounting loose
- The main headlight shakes.
- Rattling noises in the body front section.
- Replace fastening screws for the main headlight mounting following removal.
- Exception: To set the gap dimensions, loosen the new fastening screws and then re-tighten them to the specified tightening torque within 24 hours.

INFORMATION:
- The fastening screws have a hexagon at the top and can therefore be unscrewed from the front.
- It is therefore important to turn the screws in the opposite direction when screwing the rear fastening screws in and out.
1. Unscrew the fastening screws at the back -1- using an adjusting wrench 9717 -a- ( -arrows- ).
2. Unscrew the fastening screws -2- at the front.
3. Pull out the headlight mounting in an upward direction from the front guide rail -arrows A- and remove it to the front -arrow B-.
Installing headlight mounting
1. Insert the headlight mounting -arrow A- and press it into the front guide rail -arrows B-.

- Replace fastening screws for the main headlight mounting following removal.
- Exception: To set the gap dimensions, loosen the new fastening screws and then re-tighten them to the specified tightening torque within 24 hours.

2. Screw in the fastening screws at the back -1- , but do not tighten them.
3. Screw in the fastening screws at the front -2- , but do not tighten them.
4. Install main headlight.
Adjusting headlight mounting
1. Move the main headlight -arrows A, B, C- to align it to the contour of the wing -arrows-. - Gap dimension: 3 mm.
2. Maintain the prescribed gap dimension of the front guide rail for the front apron.
3. First tighten the two screws at the front -2- , then the two at the back -1- and check the gap dimension. Loosen the headlight mounting if necessary and re-adjust it. - Tightening torque: 7 Nm (5.0 ftlb.) ±0.5 Nm (±0.5 ftlb.)
4. Remove and install the main headlight at least 3 times, then check the gap dimension again. Re-adjust the headlight mounting if necessary.
