Diagnosis information - DME (DFI)

Valve lift control, both banks

NOTE Diagnosis detects that the valves of both banks are stuck in the small or large lift by way of the vibration behavior of the camshafts.

Diagnostic conditions
- Produce small lift:
- Time after engine starts > 5 minutes
- Engine speed between 1,250 rpm and 1,600 rpm
- Mass air flow between 180 mg/stk and 350 mg/stk
- Produce large lift:
- Time after engine starts > 5 minutes
- Engine speed between 1,250 rpm and 2,100 rpm
- Mass air flow between 300 mg/stk and 600 mg/stk

Possible fault causes
- Engine oil pressure too high or too low
- Both solenoid hydraulic valves faulty
