P0071
P0071Diagnosis information - DME (DFI)
Ambient temperature via CAN (from front control unit via instrument cluster)
NOTE:
- This fault is stored if the ambient temperature sent by the front control unit via the instrument cluster deviates from the calculated ambient temperature (from temperature model) by more than 25 °C (45 °F).
- The temperature model depends mainly on the measured intake air temperature.
Diagnostic conditions
- No other DME fault codes set
- Driving more than 80 km/h (50 mph) for more than 15 minutes,
- then directly after this 1 minute of driving under the following conditions:
- Coolant temperature 40 °C ... 105 °C (104 °F ... 221 °F)
- Engine speed 1200 ... 5,000 rpm
- Speed 30 ... 200 km/h (19 ... 124 mph)
Possible fault causes
- Ambient temperature incorrect (sensor trimming incorrect/faulty)
- Intake air temperature incorrect (sensor trimming incorrect/faulty)
