Ventilated Seats
Ventilated Seats (Optional)
The ventilated seats can be adjusted in three stages. Fan activation of 100%, 78% or 68% can be selected by briefly pressing the button (both fan modules are always activated).
Advantages of ventilated seats:
- Healthy and warm/dry climate
- Improved passenger comfort through regulation of heat/moisture transport
- Increased personal comfort
- Excellent seating comfort
Operating Principle and Control
Seats with seat ventilation are available as an option. The three-stage ventilation system (fan module, items 1 and 2) under the perforated seat and backrest centers creates a suction air flow. The perspiration moisture between the seat surface and the passenger is therefore drawn in and dissipated through air ducts in the seat. When the system is switched on, the climate control panel controls the fan modules in the seat cushion and backrest.
The seat heater heats the center sections of the seat cushions and backrests as well as the side bolsters (right/left). The heater output can be controlled in two stages and can be separately adjusted by way of switches on the control panel.
NOTE:
- A temperature sensor integrated in the seat-surface heating element is taken into account for regulation of the seat heating (continuous heating phase).
- The ventilated seat function (heating and ventilation) is available when the engine is running and when a vehicle electrical system voltage of between 9 and 16 V is present (signal is provided by vehicle electrical system control unit).
- Activation of the ventilated seats is possible only when the interior temperature sensor (integrated in the climate control panel) and the temperature sensor in the seat cushion have detected a temperature of at least 59 °F. (15 °C).
