Preliminary work

1. Remove hood compartment lid. -> 619019 Removing and installing hood compartment lid - section on "Removing" 619019 Removing and installing hood compartment lid

Disassembling hood compartment lid

Information

The foam pad/foam part will be damaged irreparably during removal and cannot be re-used.

1. Pull off foam pad -1- ( -arrows- ).

2. Remove any traces of adhesive and clean with cleaning solution.
3. Unscrew locating peg -2- from the hood compartment lid -arrow-.

4. Unscrew fastening screws -3- from the hood compartment lid -arrows- and pull off the inner edge protection -4- ( -arrow- ).

5. Pull off outer edge protection -5- on the hood compartment lid -arrows-.

Assembling hood compartment lid

1. Position and fit outer edge protection -5- on the hood compartment lid -arrows-.

2. Position and fit inner edge protection -4- on the hood compartment lid -arrow- and secure with the fastening screws -3- ( -arrows- ). => Tightening torque: 2.8 Nm (2 ftlb.)

3. Screw in locating peg -2- on the hood compartment lid -arrow-. => Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

Information

Bonding surfaces must be clean and free of grease.

4. Pull protective paper off the foam pad -1- and stick it on at the specified positions on the hood compartment lid -arrows-.

Subsequent work

1. Install wire harness and SDARS antenna. -> 913819 Removing and installing SDARS antenna - section on "Installing" 913819 Removing and installing SDARS antenna
2. Install hood compartment lid. -> 619019 Removing and installing hood compartment lid - section on "Installing" 619019 Removing and installing hood compartment lid
