Preliminary work

DANGER

Vehicle can fall down

- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle

-> Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
-> Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
-> Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
-> Raise the vehicle only at the take-up points provided.
-> The outer take-up points should be used primarily.

1. Raise the vehicle.

2. Remove engine compartment lid.

Removing crankshaft pulse sender

1. Remove air cleaner housing lid -2-.
1.1. Unscrew two tapping screws -1-.
1.2. Remove lid upwards out of the bottom guide for the housing.

2. Disconnect electrical plug connection for pulse sender.
2.1. Pull connector housing -1- sideways out of the support -arrow-.
2.2. Release and pull off cable plug -2-.
2.3. Unclip cable out of retaining clips -3- on plastic strip and oil-filter housing.

3. Remove crankshaft pulse sender -2-.
3.1. Unscrew internal Torx screw (T40, M6 x 16) -1-.
3.2. Disconnect crankshaft pulse sender from transmission flange.
3.3. Replace O-ring.

Installing crankshaft pulse sender

1. Install crankshaft pulse sender -2- together with new O-ring.
1.1. Grease new O-ring with Kluber Syntheso Glep (Porsche part number 000.043.204.68).
1.2. Insert pulse sender and secure using internal Torx screw (T40, M6 x 16) -1-.
=> Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

2. Connect cable plug and clip into holder.
2.1. Join cable plug -2- to connector housing -1-.
2.2. Insert connector housing sideways into holder and latch into place -arrow-.
2.3. Clip cable into retaining clips -3- on plastic strip and on oil-filter housing.

3. Install air cleaner housing lid -2-.

3.1. Insert lid into mounting and push down as far as it will go.
3.2. Fit two tapping screws -1- and tighten them by hand.

Subsequent work

1. Install engine compartment lid.
