Preliminary work

1. Remove cushion carrier for front backrest. -> 722419 Removing and installing cushion carrier for front backrest - section on "Removing" 722419 Removing and installing cushion carrier for front backrest (air-conditioned comfort seat)

Only for vehicles with adaptive sports seats.

Removing backrest side support





Installation position of motor for backrest adjustment

1. Unscrew the four fastening screws -1- and remove backrest side support -2-.

1. Unclip inner spring for backrest frame -1- at the drive shaft -2- ( -arrows B- ) and swivel it upwards ( -arrow C- ).

2. Turn plug connection -3- approx. 90° anti-clockwise -arrow D- and remove it from the backrest frame -arrow E-.
3. Release plug connection -3- ( -arrows a- ) and disconnect it -arrows F-.
4. Unscrew the two fastening screws -1- and remove motor for backrest adjustment -2-.

5. Pull drive shaft -1- out of the gear mount -2- and check for damage.

Installing motor for backrest adjustment

1. Insert the drive shaft -1- into the gear mount -2- by twisting slightly.

2. Push motor for backrest adjustment -2- onto the drive shaft by twisting slightly and secure with the two fastening screws -1-.

3. Push plug connection -3- together -arrows A- until it engages securely.

4. Insert plug connection -3- into the backrest frame -arrow B- and turn approx. 90° clockwise -arrow C-.
5. Swivel inner spring for backrest frame -1- downwards -arrow D- and clip in at the drive shaft -2- ( -arrows E- ).

Checking seat following removal

1. Connect the removed seat to the vehicle's wiring harness via test cable 9745 and test cable 9745/1.
2. Connect electric plug to control module trim panel. -> 721619 Removing and installing control module trim panel - section on "Installing" 721619 Removing and installing control module trim panel
3. Connect the battery. -> 2706IN IN -Work instructions after disconnecting the battery External Power Connection, Jump Lead Starting
4. Switch on ignition.
5. Carry out a function check on the seat components.
6. Switch off ignition after function test and disconnect battery.
7. Disconnect test cable 9745 and test cable 9745/1.

Installing backrest side support

Information

Observe hose routing!

In vehicles with lumbar support, make sure the hoses are routed correctly in the area of the backrest side support.

1. Fit backrest side support -2- and screw down with the four fastening screws -1-.

2. Install cushion carrier for front backrest. -> 722419 Removing and installing cushion carrier for front backrest - section on "Installing" 722419 Removing and installing cushion carrier for front backrest (air-conditioned comfort seat)
