Preliminary work

Removing gas-discharge headlight

NOTICE

Incorrect handling of bulbs

- Risk of damage to bulbs and the bulb housing

-> Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
-> Switch off the relevant loads when changing bulbs.
-> Only use bulbs listed in the bulb table.
-> Only install clean bulbs that are free of grease.
-> Always use a cloth or soft paper when working with bulbs.
-> Observe the safety instructions when changing a bulb in a Bi-Xenon headlight.
-> In certain states, it is compulsory to carry spare light bulbs.

Information

- The work steps are described for the left rear door of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the other doors. Any different work steps are marked/highlighted.

1. Release and pull off the cover at the two clips -a-.

2. Release gas-discharge headlight by turning once in direction of arrow and carefully remove from the bracket.

3. Release and unplug connector -b-.

1. Plug in connector on gas-discharge headlight. Check that it is seated securely.

2. Carefully fit the gas-discharge headlight into the bracket and lock it by turning once in direction of arrow.

3. Insert the cover into the tabs provided and close it until it engages securely.
