Sound Systems (CDR-31, PCM 3.1, Bose & Burmester)
CDR-31 Sound System
The CDR-31 has a sound system with 10 loudspeakers divided into 4 channels with a total power output of 100 watts and can be used to play audio CDs and music in MP3 format (formats: mp3, aac, wma).
PCM 3.1 Sound System
The optional PCM system (standard in the Panamera Turbo) includes 11 loudspeakers divided into 7 channels, an external amplifier and a total power output of 235 watts. The integrated CD/DVD drive supports audio playback of audio and video DVDs and plays music in MP3 format (formats: mp3, aac, wma, wav).
BOSE Sound System
The optional BOSE(R) Surround Sound System (standard in the Panamera Turbo) with 14 loudspeakers, including a 200-watt active subwoofer, and 9 amplifier channels provides an impressive total power output of 585 watts. The BOSE(R) technologies Centerpoint(R) 2 and Surround- Stage(R) allow the system to play stereo sources in Surround mode and _ together with PCM - makes available the audio spectrum of digital 5.1 recordings. AudioPilot(R) Noise Compensation Technology achieves a balanced sound in all driving situations.
BOSE Amplifier
The amplifier has the following functions:
- Playback of discrete 5.1 audio formats (AC3, DTS, MLP), stereo and "Announcement" sources
- Processing of DTCP-encrypted data
- Implementation of symmetric, analog inputs for connecting an external head unit
- Microphone-based driving noise compensation with taking into account other state variables, which are communicated to the amplifier via the CAN/MOST gateway
- Implementation of intelligent temperature management
Burmester Sound System
The optional High-End Surround Sound System from the Berlin-based manufacturer of high-end sound systems Burmester(R) can be ordered for an absolutely top-class music experience. The technical data: 16 individually selectable loudspeakers with a 300-watt active subwoofer and a total output of more than 1,000 watts.
Thanks to the 16-channel amplifier technology, the use of special Air Motion Transformers (ribbon tweeters), an unprecedented, acoustically effective diaphragm area of more than 2,400 cm2, and a microphone for noise compensation, an extraordinarily natural, rich and consistent surround sound is achieved in all driving situations.
In addition, various predefined sound settings, including digital 5.1 playback (in conjunction with PCM), can be selected exclusively for the Burmester(R) High-End Surround Sound System in CDR and PCM.
Air motion transformers are known for their excellent pulse behavior and high level of efficiency due to the very small masses moved. Air motion transformers are used, in particular, in HiFi loudspeakers as tweeters in the frequency range from around 1 kHz to up to around 25 kHz.
