Removing A-pillar trim





Installation position of A-pillar trim

1. Open cover -1- of A-pillar trim.

2. Unscrew fastening screw -2-.
3. Unclip A-pillar trim close to the side hook -1- ( -arrow- ).

4. Loosen A-pillar trim.

Information

- To reduce the unclipping forces and thereby the risk of damage during removal, the removal steps must be carried out at the accessible connection points using a suitable tool.

4.1. Release fixing clips -3-.
4.2. Guide a plastic wedge into the joint between the A-pillar trim and front side panel trim.

4.3. Unclip A-pillar trim by turning the plastic wedge -A-.
4.4. Remove A-pillar trim in an upward direction -B-.

Installing A-pillar trim

Information

- Check that all the fastening clips are positioned fully and correctly.

- Check that all the fastening clips are not bent or broken.

- Replace damaged or missing clips with new ones.

Information

- The side hook ( -item 1- ) in the new A-pillar trim can become damaged.

1. The A-pillar trim must be bent up close to the side hook ( -item 1- ) during fitting ( -arrow- ).

2. Guide A-pillar trim into the bracket -4- for the front side panel trim until it engages securely.

3. Clip in A-pillar trim.

3.1. Fit fixing clips -3- for the trim panel into the cut-out.
3.2. Clip in fixing clips -3-.
4. Position pin on A-pillar trim -2- in the bore on the holder -3-.

5. Position side hook on A-pillar trim -1- in the funnel on the holder -2-.

6. Screw in fastening screw -2- => Tightening torque: 4.5 Nm (3 ftlb.).

7. Clip cover -2- into place.
8. Press lightly on the A-pillar trim close to the side hook until the hook locks in the funnel on the holder with an audible click.
