Preliminary work

1. Remove headliner. -> 708419 Removing and installing headliner - section on "Removing" 708419 Removing and installing roof trim panel

NOTICE

Sliding-roof frame removed/fitted incorrectly

- Risk of damage to seats

-> Fold rear seat assembly over and tilt the front-seat backrests back.

1. Pull off water drain hoses.
1.1. Pull front water drain hoses -2- off the connection piece -1-.

1.2. Pull rear water drain hoses -2- off the connection piece -1-.

2. Release plug connection for sunroof motor -1- ( -a- ) and pull it off -B-.

3. Detach the sunroof (get another person to hold the sunroof to prevent it from falling down).
3.1. Unscrew front fastening screws -2- for the sunroof -1- from the outside in.

3.2. Unscrew side fastening screws -2- for the sunroof -1-.

3.3. Remove the sunroof with the help of another person and pull it out of the passenger compartment through the rear lid opening.

Installing sunroof

Information

- The punches have a diameter of 10 mm and 12.5 mm.

1. Place the sunroof in installation position.
1.1. Guide the sunroof through the rear lid opening into the passenger compartment with the help of another person.
1.2. Fit the sunroof on the roof frame.
1.3. Screw in fastening screws and tighten so that the frame for the sunroof can still be moved slightly.
1.4. Move the sunroof until the locating bores are free.
1.5. Position the sunroof -1- at the locating bores using the punches -2 and 3-.





Fitting punches

2. Secure the sunroof.
2.1. Screw in front fastening screws -2a and 2b- from the inside out=> Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.).

2.2. Screw in side fastening screws -2c, 2d und 2e- from front to rear=> Tightening torque: 9.7 Nm (7.5 ftlb.).

2.3. Remove the punches -2 and 3- from the sunroof -1-.

3. Connect plug connection for sunroof motor -1-.

4. Secure water drain hoses.
4.1. Connect front water drain hoses -2- to the connection piece -1-.

4.2. Connect side water drain hoses -2- to the connection piece -1-.

4.3. Check that the water drain hoses are seated securely.

Subsequent work

1. Install headliner. -> 708419 Removing and installing headliner - section on "Installing" 708419 Removing and installing roof trim panel
