Removing and installing actuator for electric parking brake

Information

The actuator for the parking brake is located on the driver's side, at the left under the steering wheel -arrow-. -> 4661IN Component arrangement - electric parking brake (EPB) Locations





Installation position of EPB actuator

1. The parking brake actuator is clipped into the knee guard at four points, two at the bottom -arrows- and two at the top.





Unclipping actuator

1.1. Open the driver's door. Using a plastic wedge, carefully prise the clips out of the surround on the actuator from underneath. Make sure not to damage the leather!
2. Release the lock on the connector -arrow- and pull off the connector.





Releasing lock on connector

Installation is performed in reverse order.

The lock on the connector must engage correctly.

Perform a function test.
- The indicator light in the parking brake actuator must be ON when you close it.
- The indicator light in the parking brake actuator must be OFF when you open it.
- Check for locking and release noises from the electric parking brake actuators when you actuate them.
