Removing valve lifters (hydraulic tappets)

Information

- The hydraulic tappets are fitted as bucket tappets on the outlet side and as switching tappets for valve lift switchover on the intake side.

- Switching tappets and bucket tappets cannot be interchanged.

- The hydraulic tappets have a twist lock for the cylinder head.

Information

- If the hydraulic tappets are to be re-used, they must be marked according to installation position using a water-resistant felt-tip pen and set aside in such a way that they cannot be mixed up!

- If the hydraulic tappets are to be re-used, they must be installed at the same position!

1. Pull the hydraulic tappets out of the cylinder head one after the other => Hydraulic tappets and set them aside in such a way that they cannot be mixed up => Putting components down without mixing them up (cylinder bank 5-8 shown here as an example).

1. Oil the hydraulic tappets with engine oil and insert them into the cylinder head. => Hydraulic tappets
