Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is a shock absorber system for active and continuous damper control on front and rear axle. It regulates the damping force for each individual wheel, depending on driving style and driving conditions. PASM is standard equipment for steel and air suspension.
The three chassis programs Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus can be used to adjust the chassis on the Panamera to suit individual requirements. The driver enjoys the comfort of a touring in the Comfort program and the performance and agility of a Porsche sports car in the Sport Plus program. The required damping force is always calculated and applied for each wheel in all three programs, as described above. Only the emphasis is different, depending on the ultimate objective, be it comfort or performance.
PASM is controlled by regulating the oil flow in the shock absorbers. In Comfort mode, for example, the oil can flow freely and the shock absorber is regulated easily.
Depending on the selected program, the flow paths close or contract and the oil is prevented from flowing through. Based on this principle, damping force and vehicle handling can be controlled at the push of a button.

The adaptive damper control system Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is optionally available for the Panamera and Panamera 4. This system continuously varies the damper forces depending on the road conditions and driving style. The damper settings can be changed by the driver in three stages - Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus.
