Preliminary work

1. Remove switching element for filler flap. -> 553819 Removing and installing switching element for filler flap - section on "Removing" Service and Repair

Replacing filler flap

Information

The filler flap housing will be damaged during removal and must be replaced during installation.





Installation position of filler flap

1. Open the filler flap.
2. Remove filler flap.





Pull off filler flap.

2.1. Insert a screwdriver into the cut-out -arrow A- and disengage the catch -2-.
2.2. Detach the filler flap -1- by pulling it -arrow B- out of the catch.
3. Open the fuel tank cap -arrow A- , unclip the retaining strap -1- and pull it off -arrow B-.

4. Use a screwdriver to puncture all depressions and release the catches -arrow-.

5. Use special tool hook 3370 to pull out the filler flap housing -arrow A-.

6. Guide new filler flap housing with mechanical actuation -arrow- into the opening in the body.

7. Align the filler flap housing so that the rubber lip goes all around the outside of the filler flap housing -arrow-.

8. Press the filler flap housing against the body until the locking lugs engage securely.
9. Slide on the tank cap -arrow- so that the locking lugs -1- lock into the holders and engage audibly in the catch -2-.

10. Clip in retaining strap -1- ( -arrow A- ).

11. Screw in fuel tank cap -arrow B-.

1. Install switching element for filler flap. -> 553819 Removing and installing switching element for filler flap - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
