Tightening torques, assembly instructions

Information
The tightening specifications for the basic engine are stored centrally. Tightening torques and assembly instructions for other affected assemblies (e.g. chassis, electrics, transmission or body) or for peripheral engine equipment can be found in the corresponding documents.

Preliminary work

1. Remove design cover on bar ignition modules on cylinder bank 5 to 8.

1. Disconnect cable connections to the connection piece on the oil mist separator. To do this, press on the grooved surfaces and pull off the connection. -1-

2. Loosen screws -2-. Screws are permanently connected. If screws are damaged, press the screws out of the oil mist separator and replace them.
3. Remove oil mist separator from the valve cover. At the same time, check the gaskets and replace them if damaged.

1. Check gaskets on oil mist separator and replace if damaged.
2. Place oil mist separator in installation position.
3. Fit oil mist separator evenly onto the valve cover.
4. Screw in and tighten screws for oil mist separator by hand -2-. Screws are permanently connected. If screws are damaged, press the screws out of the oil mist separator and replace them.

5. Fit line connections to the connection pieces on the oil mist separator -1-. You should hear and feel the lines engage.

Subsequent work

1. Fit design cover.
