Cylinder bank 1 - 4:
1. Remove heat shields on the exhaust manifold for cylinder bank 1 - 4 and on the generator. -arrows-

2. Disconnect cable plug on oxygen sensor for cylinders 1 - 4 and release cable around the exhaust manifold and generator. => Oxygen sensor on naturally aspirated engine, cylinders 1 to 4

3. Carefully unscrew the oxygen sensor at the exhaust manifold using a suitable tool. -1-.

Cylinder bank 5 - 8:
4. Remove heat shield on exhaust manifold for cylinders 5 - 8.

4.1. Loosen fastening screws -1- on the heat shield.
4.2. Unclip heat shield -2- from the holders -3-.
5. Disconnect cable plug on oxygen sensor and release cable around the exhaust manifold.

6. Remove oxygen sensor from below at the exhaust manifold using a suitable tool -1-.

Information

After installing the oxygen sensor cables, use the Porsche System Tester to check that the oxygen sensors have not been interchanged. Release the oxygen sensor cables so that the cables can turn when you unscrew or screw in the sensor. Otherwise, the Check Engine light will come on and there may be a change in the vehicle's exhaust gas behaviour.

Cylinder bank 1 - 4:
1. Grease thread of oxygen sensors with Optimoly Paste MF (000 043 207 07) before fitting them.
Make sure that the paste does not get into the slits in the sensor body.
2. Carefully screw in oxygen sensor at the exhaust manifold by hand.
Fit the oxygen sensor correctly using a special tool (e.g. open-end/ring wrench Nr.98, => Special tools for oxygen sensors ) -1-. => Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 ftlb.)+/-5 Nm (+/-3.5 ftlb.)

3. Route oxygen sensor cable around the exhaust manifold and generator and clip it in. => Oxygen sensor on naturally aspirated engine, cylinders 1 to 4

4. Fit heat shields. => Heat shields on V8 naturally aspirated engine

Cylinder bank 5 - 8:

8. Fit heat shield for cylinder bank 5 - 8.

8.1. Clip heat shield -2- into the holders -3-.
8.2. Fit the fastening screws -1- for the heat shield.
