Diagnosis information - DME (DFI)

Electrical fault, oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter, bank 2

NOTE:

- This fault indicates that the DME control unit has detected an implausible temperature range for the oxygen sensor.
- Since lambda control is interrupted at this time, the DME control unit stores this fault as information. The more precise fault cause is stored as a further P code.
- Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor's plug connections as this will result in irreparable damage to the lines (blockage of reference air duct).
- Do not interchange the oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter with the sensor behind the catalytic converter as this will result in implausible fault entries.

Diagnostic conditions
- Engine running more than 30 seconds
- Exhaust temperature more than 100 °C (212 °F)
- Oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter operational
- No overrun fuel shutoff

Possible fault causes
- Other electric oxygen sensor faults are stored in the fault memory
