General warning notes

Danger of injury while welding

WARNING

Electric welding

- Risk of electric shock or burns

-> Wear personal protective gear.
-> Disconnect both battery terminals.
-> Do not weld in a damp area or when it is wet under foot.
-> Move highly inflammable materials out of the work area. Ventilate the work area well.
-> Remove smoke gases with an extraction system.
-> Read specific safety information for the welder.
-> Check that welder is working perfectly before use.

Safety instructions for dealing with flying sparks during grinding and welding work

WARNING

Grinding and welding work

- Danger of fire or explosion

-> Avoid working in an area with highly inflammable or explosive materials.
-> Cover highly inflammable or explosive areas.
-> Remove highly inflammable or explosive parts.

Safety instructions for air conditioning

CAUTION

Danger of injury! Bursting of the filled air-conditioning system during welding and brazing work!

- Danger of injury due to the filled air-conditioning system bursting during welding and brazing work.

-> No welding, brazing or hot-air heating may be performed on parts of the filled air-conditioning system!
-> While drying after painting work, the temperature burden on the vehicle must not exceed two hours at a maximum temperature of 80 °C!
-> Make sure that parts of the air-conditioning system do not heat up during welding or brazing work on the vehicle!
-> In the case of extreme heating of filled air-conditioning systems, a very strong overpressure may be caused in the system which may lead to an explosion.

Risk of electric shock with high-voltage system (hybrid)

WARNING

High voltage at the high-voltage system on hybrid vehicles

- Danger of electric shock from live parts
- Risk of serious burns or death
- Health risks for persons with medical devices/life-support systems.

-> Before working on the high-voltage electrical system and carrying out any repair work to the body, a high-voltage technician must switch off the power to the system.
-> All work on vehicles with a high-voltage electrical system may only be carried out by electrically instructed persons. The work must be done under the instruction of a high-voltage technician.
-> Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage electrical system.

Safety instructions for installation work

Safety instructions for sharp-edged body and unit parts

CAUTION

Pointed or sharp objects

- Risk of cracks, pricks or cuts

-> Wear personal protective gear.
